Android N features: All you need to know

The news is out and the most awaited Android ‘N’ is expected to be released on August 22. We decided to upraise you with all you want to know about Android ‘N’ and it would surely give you a reason to smile. The whole tech industry is talking about it and you are going to miss a lot if you are unaware of this. It is confirmed that the first devices to get the software will be Nexus devices like Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Pixel C, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.

Crisis management

Android N has come with something really out of the box. Now, you can put your emergency info like name, Address, emergency contact no., blood group etc. on the lock screen of your phone itself. This is really helpful if someone meets an accident; with all this info on the lock screen itself, the passersby would be able to help immediately.

Enhanced smart lock feature

Android 6 or Marshmallow introduced smart lock for passwords which allowed the users to store their app passwords and said good bye to the pain of signing over and over again. However this feature was not completely flawless and many apps disallowed this. With Android N, we expect this issue to be resolved.

New updated Menu

Android N has yet again returned with the hamburger menu that flashes the top settings menu at the tap of your fingers. In addition to this, it is also enhanced to provide an escape option to the main settings screen. This enhanced menu bids adieu to the duplicate actions of the back arrows in the navigation bar which makes the device even smarter.

Upgraded notifications Bar

It seems that Android N would woo iOS users too as it has introduced a new feature which is quite similar to the latter. A smartphone user receives multiple notifications and earlier to reply to these notifications, one had to unlock the phone or leave a running function. But, with Android N, you won’t have to unlock the phone or leave a running app to answer a message. You can reply using the notifications bar itself; sounds interesting nah!

Use of Split Screen

Last year when Android M was launched, we saw Google struggling to implant the functionalities of multi-tasking into Android devices though later the same was withdrawn with Android 6. But, now Google has found the remedy and is all set to launch it in Android 7. The long awaited functionality would allow the users to work on split screens thus allowing two apps to work smoothly parallely.

Project ‘Svelte’

It is being speculated that Google is working on project Svelte which makes Android to run smoothly even on low end phones or aged high end phones. However, not much info is available regarding this, but very soon more news would come post release of Android N.
