Uber always waves the flag of innovation in its features and surprises the world with its ideology. Recently Uber added new distinct features to its Uber and UberEats app.
Starring inside the Uber app itself, eScooter has been added as a service in Tampa, Florida as another option of commutation for people.
Currently, there are four companies pitching up with Uber eScooter, namely, Bird, Lime, and Spin in the scooter domain. All of them working to get a piece of the pie of profit that scooter domain is famous for offering.
Well first you will have to launch your Uber app, search for the eScooter in your location; you have to walk up to it and scan the QR code on the eScooter through Uber app to unlock and get going. You will be able to navigate your way to any eScooter of any brand via Corral maps.
Now, as safety is the most important aspect of traveling via eScooters, Uber requests the users to wear a helmet every time they ride one.
Uber also insists the riders follow all the traffic rules as anyone normally would with any other vehicle, only for the safety of the driver and to eliminate the chances of accidents happened previously with eScooters. Additionally, a user must park their ride near a bike rack.
The Mayor of Tampa Jane caster stated, “With any new program, there is a learning curve or a timeframe, and we’re going through that right now in the city of Tampa,” in relation to the effective management of eScooters.
Now that we have looked at one of the latest Uber offerings, it is time to move on to the second – Dine-In option in UberEats.
UberEats is already a hit with the users and now, they have another reason to love it. In addition to the delivery and take-out facility which were already there in the app, Uber has now introduced a Dine-In feature into the app.
Well, like never before, you will now have the option to choose the Dine-In facility inside the UberEats app. This feature would enable you to pre-order before you reach the restaurant, and can eat it hot from the oven, without the tedious waiting.
Uber said, “We’re always thinking about new ways to enhance the Eats experience”, which clearly specifies their focus for all their functions.
Not that people don’t love to spend that extra waiting time talking to their dinner partner(s), however, it is nice to have an option which saves time. This is a great feature for people who dine alone and would love to just eat on the go in the Dallas, San Diego, Phoenix, and Austin area where the feature is presently active.
The addition clearly validates the time-efficient approach and ideology practiced by Uber.
This poses as good news for the restaurants as well, for it invites more traffic on off-timings like start and the closing hour. You will also be able to tip the waiter from within the app and it will all go to the restaurant entirely. Also, once you order on “ASAP” mode, you will be displayed the time to reach the place, time taken for food preparation, etc.
Delivery service, Take-Out and now Dine-In in just one app makes it so much easier for the users to depend on just one source for all their eating needs. It displays the implicit motives of Uber- to engage the user on only one app for their food transactions. With this “One app for all” Uber is poised to give a serious competition to Yelp, Open Table, and Resy and holds the potential to put them out of business.
Allset CEO Stas Matviyenko said, and we quote, “I think that more delivery players will be tapping into dine-in space. It’s all about convenience and time-saving. But it’s going to be very difficult for them (Uber), given their focus on delivery.”
